Wurkkos DL40 Diving Flashlight – Review 2024

Wurkkos DL40

The Wurkkos DL40 Scuba Diving Light is a top-performing dive light that offers a brightness level of 5000 Lumens. This makes it ideal for diving in low light conditions and for illuminating the underwater environment. The light is also compact and lightweight, making it easy to carry on dives.

It is also impressive that the LEDs can last up to 50,000 hours before they need to be replaced. Furthermore, the Wurkkos illumination distance can be extended to 400 meters when underwater, making it suitable for any depth. A magnetic side switch allows you to switch between four brightness settings easily.

Moreover, the dive light is water resistant thanks to the dual O-ring seals. In addition, the design helps it withstand the corrosive effects of deep water pressure. Its long-lasting battery makes the Wurkkos 5000 Lumen stand out from others. In high mode, the dive light runs for 3.4 hours; in low mode, it runs for 28 hours.

The duration of these models is significantly longer than those of most popular models. This is my first Wurkkos light. It is a perfectly acceptable piece of machining. The head had some minor imperfections, and the tail cap near the lanyard hole had visible machine marks underneath the anodization.

In addition, there are no sharp edges anywhere on the light, and the parts fit together perfectly, without major gaps or uneven joints. The two 26650 batteries rattle away inside the tube with aplomb, so it fails my Maracas test.

The light is constructed from 6061-T6 aluminum alloy with a type III HA anodizing for a deep black finish. There is a semi-gloss finish, but it is not too glossy.  Apart from that, I think the finish is nice and should hold up well under rough conditions.
